Reviews
We love this place for some of the best Mexican food in Bakersfield. We ordered lunch special cheese enchiladas, Spanish rice and refried beans. Very tasty, we ate it all. Including one Coca cola and water. All for just $22.19. Great value! Great service, will be back again.
I do like this restaurant. They have good food at good prices. My last review indicated poor service. I have come a few times since then and it's kind of hit or miss. But the food remains good and I love their lunch specials!
My son and i...well actually I decided on Rancho Grande for lunch a few weeks ago...you see for some reason when i want mexican food my son is a killjoy and usually doesn't want it. This time i was like nope this is what we're having end of story :) First really really sweet staff here all the guys just super pleasant and attentive. The chips and salsa ohhh that salsa roasted deep and rich i wanted to take some home it was that yummy!! I was having a hard time deciding on what to get i looked at the lunch specials and although they looked great with awesome prices this was my first time here and i thought it only right to see what they are about. My son chose the carnitas and i had the waiter pick mine (i love surprises hehehe) We felt like lil pigs that day so we got the queso with chorizo dip and lemme tell you we were in Love!! Definitely a cheese mouthgasm Lol Out came our entrees and mine was the carne asada platter with a cheese enchilada. My son and i shared bites of each other's and i have to say everything was solid, flavorful and hit my mexican food craving spot right on ;) I have zero complaints service was perfect, the ambiance colorful and relaxing at the same time. I definitely plan to come back for cocktails and to explore that menu in the near future Thanks for an awesome lunch!!
Fathers Day celebration! Outstanding service, 5 stars alone for the service. All the staff was working hard and where very attentive. We had 3 different servers come to check on us consistently, plus mom and pop ( the owners, I assume) where there and where working hard right along there staff, nice to see there Love for there restaurant, so the restaurant overall has a very intimate, family/homey feel to it with very beautiful decor! I ordered the two soft chicken taco combo plate , my husband the 3 combo plate of 2 chicken enchiladas and a chicken tamale, my father had a 2 combo plate with a crunchy beef taco and a beef enchilada, all came with a side of rice and beans. We also ordered 3 margaritas and a beer. ( Cheers! ) and i was also given the option of street tacos or larger size ones, crunchy or soft, not sure if the prices differ on the size of the tacos, but its nice that you get options! The food was great!! that first bite you take and your just like " OH YEAAAH " lol, but not so much with my husbands tamale that the waiter suggested to him. Free chips and salsa! The chips where hot, fresh out the fryer and lightly salted ! really yummy, And the salsa was a 6.8/10, It doesn't have any kick to it, which I didn't care for and the overall flavor was a little ordinary. My chicken tacos where hefty with chicken, the chicken itself was full of delicious flavor, moist, tender and fresh, the tortillas where soft and fresh and the little green salsa that came on my plate was amazing! a nice touch to the tacos. My husbands tamale was DRY and there was little filling/meat in it, kind of a disappointment since the waiter highly suggested them, his enchiladas were great though, he said they where soft & the chicken was tender and flavorful and the sauce was great. My dad gave his plate a 8/10. (not much of a reviewer lol) The rice tastes as good as it looks, nice flavor, soft and fluffy and the beans where good and creamy, but they Do give you little portions ( in the images it looks like a lot , but it was only a very thin layer ) Because it was Fathers Day they had a happy hour special going on for drinks so that was cool to get a discount. The margaritas where good 1 blended and 2 on the rocks, strong enough to catch a buzz. But im also a light weight :) Dads beer was nice and cold. We all left with full and happy bellies. The food is reasonably priced and There on restaurants.com too. We'll for sure be back and if your looking for some home style Mexican food, then check it out!
Cute little hole in the wall restaurant. it has enough seating for small and large parties. They have a happy hour and lunch special we always miss due to it ending at 3PM. My family has gone at least once a month and each time service is great, lil slow with short staff. But their food makes up for it. They have a full bar and seating in bar area booths & tables. They do require masks when entering. Outside seating available if wanted, take out & catering is an option as well.
